Some of you may know my husband Justin Taylor, who is a 29 year old hard working dad at Taylor Insulation. He injured his back about five years ago, herniating his L4-L5 disc. He went to three separate chiropractors over those years, but nothing could help him with the herniation. In 2025, he underwent his first surgery, a Microdiscectomy. He felt great afterwards until recovery day three, when he felt and heard a pop—his back had reherniated itself again.
After meeting multiple doctors near and far and undergoing several MRIs and CT scans, we were able to find a surgeon in Virginia who will perform a second surgery to put in an artificial disc. This has been a very long and painful process for him and our family. We have two kiddos—our daughter, 7, and our son, 3—who all they want in the world is to play with their dad again. And as his wife, who just wants to see him smile and be pain-free and happy and be able to stand up straight and be proud. It hurts his self-esteem, and that breaks my heart. We do not have insurance, and medical bills and travel expenses are very expensive.
I just want him to be able to do the fun things he enjoys with the family and the kids. We are young and still full of life, with so many things we want to do! But this upcoming surgery is more than we could ever afford, and it’s his only chance, so we have to take it. I’m asking people in my community or even further out to take a minute, read his story, and make a donation—big or small, it all helps. Your support would go to a good cause, not only helping Justin but our whole family!
