- It is with a very heavy heart that I write these words and start this fundraiser. Yesterday, (6/7) our son passed away from a massive seizure. Justin Carty had epilepsy and had seizures off and on, and yesterday while painting, had another that was just too much for him to come back from. We are in shock as are the many of you who have heard the news. The outpour of emotion and love his mother Bambi Carty and I, his father Gilbert Castro and step mom Misty Kerbo, Diana Fuentes who blessed us with our grandchildren and is an amazing mom to those kiddos, his step mom Kathy, numerous aunts, uncles, grandparents and the amazing group of friends from the game runescape I've had the privilege of meeting since his passing shows just how much he was loved by so many and it truly warms our hearts. Justin started painting on Christmas day last year, after getting art supplies and an easel, and immediately showed immense talent and potential as soon as we got home. I helped him setup a business page a few days later, and his work began selling within hours. This totally inspired and drove him to make the next one even better than the last. Justin leaves behind 4 kids, 3 biological and one he loved and treated no different than the others. We did not have any life insurance for Justin arranged, he was so young it just seemed unnecessary... We are doing this to help cover the unexpected costs that come so quickly in a time like this to handle making sure he is attended to respectfully, and to hopefully have a fund set aside for the kids to utilize. This is one of the hardest posts I've ever had to write, and I feel there's so much more I need and want to say, but I've had to stop too many times to collect myself so this is all I can muster for now. I will update when I can, and will let everyone know when and where we are going to gather and pay our respects to our son, loving father, and true friend. Thank you all who've read this far, and thank all of you for your outpouring of love, messages and support that we've gotten, it means the world to all of us. Big love to you all.
