Help Justin avoid imminent homelessness
Hello. I’m writing to ask for help for my friend Justin. He was not dealt the best hand in life. He had a tough upbringing. I've seen him work
so hard on himself over the years to overcome his issues but he's on the verge of falling through the cracks of society.
During covid his financial situation became grave. He did not receive normal stimulus checks because he was working on a degree when they were issued. He's since had to stop studying and focus on survival. Four months ago, while beginning a new restaurant job, he began to suffer crippling nerve pain in his leg and he more or less lost his mobility. His financial situation became darker as he was stuck at home in constant pain. He's received aid from a non-profit to help him with back rent and has a case worker through a local hospital program, but he's fallen behind again, and the system is moving far too slow to help him resolve his medical issue before he is evicted. He's broke, in pain, without the support system most of us can rely on. There seem to be no answers for him right now and I can't just watch him become homeless. He has received an eviction notice and will likely be evicted in a few days.
Justin has never had a lot, but always been generous to me. He did not come from a loving or stable family, but has always shown me love and friendship. He's highly intelligent, a deep existential thinker. He's worked hard to right himself, but he's out of rope right now. He deserves some grace.
I'm asking you to help me keep him off the streets for 4-6 months, so he can resolve his medical issues and return to work. If you have any leads regarding work from home jobs that would be very valuable (so long as he has a home to work from). Please help me help him.
