Help Justin & Alicia Rebuild After Devastating Apartment Fire
Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and deep humility.
On Friday, July 18th, our apartment was tragically engulfed in a fire for reasons still unknown. In just a matter of moments, most of what we’ve built together; our memories, our work, our lives, was reduced to smoke and water damage. We are now faced with the overwhelming task of starting over. We are safe, and for that we’re grateful beyond words!
Who We Are
I’m Justin, a passionate music artist. Since I was a kid, music has been my world. I produce, write, and arrange everything I create from scratch. It’s more than just sound to me; it’s my language, my purpose, and my lifeline. Much of my music equipment, speakers, cherished vinyls, and my laptop (which held countless unreleased projects) were destroyed in the fire. It’s hard to describe the heartbreak of losing years of creative work in seconds.
My partner, Alicia, is a loving and dedicated childcare professional and youth development specialist. Coincidently, the same day of the fire was her last day with her organization after 14 years of service with youth in the Spring Creek area of Brooklyn. Her life’s mission is to help children and support families, offering care, education, and a safe space for little ones to grow. She’s the kind of person who puts everyone else first and right now, she needs a little of that kindness back.
What We Lost:
Beyond the essentials, we lost things that can never be replaced:
• Irreplaceable photos of loved ones and friends
• Furniture that held memories from our first home together
• The very foundation of our day-to-day lives: clothes, food, water, toiletries, and
shelter
We’re currently in urgent need of:
• Temporary shelter and basic necessities (food, water, clothing)
• Support recovering music and work equipment (laptop, speakers, instruments, etc.)
• Assistance transporting what few belongings we could salvage (we’ll need a moving van and help moving)
We never thought we’d be in this position, but we are reaching out to ask for your help—any amount, big or small, makes a difference. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or just keeping us in your thoughts and prayers during this trying time. We appreciate you more than words can say!
We are heartbroken, but we are not hopeless. With your support, we believe we can rebuild, not just what we lost, but something even stronger.
With love and gratitude,
Justin & Alicia
