This isn’t just a dream anymore—I’ve been accepted into flight school. Now I’m doing everything I can to make sure this opportunity doesn’t pass me by. My name is Justice Mayes, and I’m raising funds to pursue my dream of becoming a professional pilot. I’m proud to share that I have officially been accepted into the LIFT Academy Flight School in Galveston, Texas—an accelerated aviation program designed to take students from zero experience to a professional pilot in just 1.5 years. I am now also an official member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners Pilot Association).

This opportunity is life-changing. LIFT Academy provides a direct pathway into the aviation industry, preparing students to become highly skilled pilots through intensive training, discipline, and real-world flight experience. After completing the program, my plan is to become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) to build flight hours, and then continue my career with Republic Airways as a First Officer, with the long-term goal of becoming a Captain.

Aviation has always been something I’ve taken seriously. From learning the fundamentals of flight early on to pushing myself to understand the responsibility and discipline it takes to succeed in this field, I’ve been committed to this path for a long time. I am also being very diligent in doing my part to make this dream a reality. I am actively applying for scholarships, seeking financial aid opportunities, and building a strong financial plan to support myself throughout this journey. I am fully committed to exhausting every option available to me. However, the biggest obstacle standing between me and this opportunity is financial. The total cost of tuition, flight hours, certifications, and living expenses during training is significant. I am fully committed to completing this program and building a career in aviation—but I cannot do it alone.
