At Just For Dogs Rescue Shelter, every single day we open our doors to dogs who have nowhere else to turn. Many arrive frightened, neglected, or in urgent need of medical care. We never want to say “no” to a dog in need – but right now, we are facing overwhelming veterinary bills that are putting a huge strain on our small, independent rescue.

In recent weeks, we’ve had to fund several emergency operations to save lives, as well as essential dental treatments to free dogs from pain and suffering. On top of this, we have a long list of dogs waiting for their neutering procedures – a vital step in preventing future unwanted litters and helping them move on to their forever homes.

Some of the dogs needing urgent care are:

• Dotty and Sheba, two sweet girls that have both needed repetitive surgeries for painful mammary tumours as well as extensive dental work.

• Another boy Casper (NKA Reggie), arrived to us extremely undernourished, and heartbreakingly, he required surgery to remove a tumour from his leg. Although we were thrilled to find that Reggie’s tumour was benign, it was with heart-breaking news that Reggie sadly fought for as long as he could and passed away by his mum’s side. It eases the pain to know that although Reggie had a terrible start to life, his months before his passing were the best moments of his life - spent truly loved, spoiled and finally, well fed.

• Sonny & Coda - two handsome older boys in need of urgent dentals.

Thankfully, these dogs are now all in loving, forever homes, receiving the best care whilst their operations and treatments continue.

These treatments aren’t optional – they are absolutely necessary to give our dogs a chance at a happy, healthy future. But the costs are rising faster than we can keep up with. As a charity that relies solely on donations, we desperately need your support.
