Jupiter, also known as Nacho, is a three-year-old foster dog who has already overcome so much in his short life. He was found as a stray in Dallas and brought to Dallas Animal Services, where his big wrinkly head and soulful eyes immediately captured my heart. Since coming into my care on August 21, 2025, Jupiter Nacho has shown incredible resilience. When he first arrived, he was constantly biting at his back and tail due to a severe allergic reaction to fleas. With the help of my vet and some medication, we were able to resolve his discomfort and get him healthy enough for his neuter surgery, which went smoothly.
Unfortunately, just a week after his neuter, Jupiter Nacho tore a ligament in his back left knee while simply going outside to go potty. This injury has been especially hard to watch because he is such a happy, energetic dog who deserves to run and play like any other young pup. Right now, he is on daily trazodone to keep him calm and prevent further injury, but he still tries to stay positive and brave, never whining even when he’s clearly in pain and unable to put weight on his leg.
The funds raised will go directly toward Jupiter Nacho’s TPLO surgery, the medication he needs for recovery, and post-operative appointment. I will be handling his physical therapy myself, drawing on my experience from helping my own dog through the same procedure. Dallas Animal Services and local rescues are unable to help financially, so I am turning to the community for support. Surgery is urgent to prevent further damage and give Jupiter Nacho the chance at a pain-free, active life. My family and I are dedicated to seeing him through the months of recovery ahead, and we are grateful for any help in giving this sweet dog the future he deserves so he can get adopted!!!
