Hello Friends and Family,
As you know we have been dealing with Juniper’s health for the past couple of months. She has been supported by the incredible staff and volunteers at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton.
This was a very challenging and overwhelming time for us as a family.
Many, many days and nights spent at the hospital, countless stressful conversations with doctors and nurses about Juniper's care, and of course the worst of all, watching Juniper go through such an ordeal.
We also had an incredible outpouring of support from friends, family, neighbours, Junipers’ school community and more. We are deeply grateful for the meals, the gifts, prayers, good wishes and time that people so generously gave to us.
Many of you asked: “Let us know if there is anything we can do.” I write to you today with an opportunity to do just this.
One of the most supportive organisations during our stay at the hospital was the Ronald McDonald House. They have a cafe inside the hospital run by volunteers and also, Juniper's Mom, Bethany was able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house, just a short walk down the road from the hospital, allowing her to be there every day to provide comfort and support.
This organisation provided an island of refuge during what felt like an incredible storm. They provided nourishment, shelter, kindness, meals, and many, many coffees. Not to mention the way they made Juniper feel special and to gave her the opportunity to experience wonder and delight as any child should.
I felt compelled to give back to this organisation while staying at the hospital so that more families like ours could continue to receive the support that we did during our stay at Mac.
Please consider making a donation to supporting future families who need to spend time at the Hospital. It's a huge contribution that makes an incredibly difficult time even a little less challenging. We never thought we would need such services, and we are beyond grateful that they exist for families like ours.
Thank you.
