Help Juniper, Pinyon and their soon to be puppies!

Help us get care for these abandoned dogs! We found two dogs that had been dumped in rural Utah and the local shelters at home turned us away, so all medical expenses and care for the dogs, and soon to be puppies is on us.

The full story:
On our roadtrip from Colorado, we stopped in Utah for a hike in a remote area off Highway 50. After the hike, we found two abandoned and starving dogs lying in the middle of the dirt road, with no towns or people in sight for miles. We stopped the car and rolled down our windows, and the two dogs immediately came running up to the car and one of the dogs jumped in the window onto my lap! We knew we couldn’t leave these dogs out in the middle of the desert, so we loaded them in the car. After finding out there were only animal control or kill shelters nearby in this really remote part of Utah, we decided to take them home to make sure they were safe, fed, and bathed before reaching out to a local shelter we trusted at home. Since we found them in the Utah desert surrounded by Juniper and Pinyon pine trees, we started to use those names, Juniper for the girl and Pinyon for the boy.

Once home, we brought Juniper and Pinyon to a shelter to check if they had a microchip and get help with finding the dogs a home, but the local shelters turned us away since we didn't find the dogs in our county, so we’re on our own for their medical expenses and care. This is where the plot twists: we noticed Juniper's belly was quickly growing. We originally thought she had just given birth but she actually is still pregnant! After an ultrasound and x-ray, it is confirmed she has 7 puppies in her belly and she will probably give birth in a week or so.

Meanwhile, we tried to reach the owner of the dogs from the microchip. Through a series of phone calls, we found the recent owner who confirmed our suspicion that the dogs were dumped in the desert and he didn’t want them anymore. With the pregnancy, the dogs getting attached to us, and the shelters turning the dogs away, we decided the best option is to birth the puppies at home and handle the medical care for the puppies and dogs ourselves.

So many people have asked how they can help, so we decided to start a GoFundMe for all of the medical expenses. With the pregnancy, shots, neutering, spaying, and 7 soon to be puppies, the vet bills and pet expenses are stacking up. Anything you can chip in helps to get this family of 9 care and good homes.

Since we don’t have help from a shelter, we are also going to need help to find homes for the 7 puppies. We know the dogs came from the same home, so assume he is the dad, which means these puppies will be an adorable mix. We think Pinyon is a Shepherd Pyrenees mix and Juniper is a Border Collie Hound mix! Our intention is to try and keep Pinyon and Juniper but will need to find loving homes for their little ones.

❤️ Thank you in advance for sharing and helping get care for these pups. ❤️
