Help Junior the Cat

Update from Owners Dan & Joy Ecklund 1/15/2024 :

Dear Friends,

We want to let you know that our beloved cat, Junior, has made a remarkable recovery from his attack and tail amputation.

Junior has been recovering inside our house since mid October. His large gash has healed; his hair on his backside is growing in nicely; and he is learning how to balance without a bushy tail. In fact, he can jump up and off counters and tables in order to track down food. His strength and tenacity grow daily.

He has made friends with our dogs, and particularly likes to bump and rub on the poodles. Junior experienced his first Christmas indoors and DIDN'T demolish the Christmas tree!

We anticipate releasing him to the outdoors for a reunion with his Mother, Lana, when the weather warms up.

Thanks to outstanding veterinary care at both Atascadero Emergency Hospital, and the Dr.'s and staff at El Camino Veterinary Hospital, (particularly Dr. Lauren).

Many thanks to all the individuals who spread the word about Junior's story, donated money for his care and recovery, and sent good vibes our way.

Update: As of today, Junior was attached by a coyote 1-1/2 months ago and he lost his tail. He is also trying to heal an open wound on his back about 4"x2". He must stay caged most of the time so the wound will close. He has about 2-3 weeks more before the next update. Thank you everyone for your help with him and is very much appreciated by owners.
