Help Junior pay UWC fees (health insurance, etc)

Help Junior get to UWC!

Junior has done the hard work and earned a full scholarship at UWC USA ! Because of this he has the opportunity to finish high school in the U.S with students from over 95 nationalities and represent the country of Eswatini among his classmates.

However, despite the full tuition there are several parts of the program that the scholarship does not cover such as:

*health insurance
*post-office fee
*carbon offset fee
*pocket money

The school is asking for $573 for the first year, but Junior will have to pay this again in the beginning of the second year.
While he was able to cover the room deposit fee of $300, his mother recently lost her job due to the pandemic. She is currently working as a hairdresser and can no longer cover the remaining fees.

We are aiming to help Junior cover all of his needs during his two year studies at UWC. This is a minimum of (573x2) $1146 dollars but there is always a need for pocket money over the two years. During UWC there are opportunities to travel to the American Southwest during spring or winter breaks, but also Junior might want to pursue a college degree in the U.S and he will need to pay for the SAT, application fees ( he wants to be a mechanical/electrical engineer) , or he may simply need to go to Walmart every now and then ;)  We are aiming for a minimum of  $1146, but hopefully we can surpass it so Junior and his family do not have to stress while he is abroad.

Here's a bit more about Junior

"My name is Junior Mauiango and I’m from the Kingdom of Eswatini formerly known as Swaziland. I am 19 years old and I live with my grandparents at Ngwane Park. I’ve been recently selected by the Eswatini National committee to attend UWC USA in the upcoming class of 2023.

My participation in the Together for Development Short Course in 2019 was an eye-opening, life-changing experience that served to validate my desire to be part of the UWC movement. The concept of exploring the world, living and learning alongside people from around the globe appealed to me tremendously which is why I applied to UWC.

At UWC I hope to learn more about different cultures so that I can be more globally engaged and have a broader perspective of the world. Upon completion at UWC, I would love to pursue a career that combines mechanical and electrical engineering. I intend to focus on finding novel ways of producing clean energy while improving the efficient methods that already exist. I would like to be involved in the electric vehicle industry."

Junior already got the amazing 82k scholarship, let's help him with a little push :) Any bit helps!

The money (minimum 573 for the first year) is due August 7th. The remaining money will be transferred to the school and waiting for Junior until he opens a U.S bank account. If you have any questions about costs/ want more visibility don't hesitate to let me know.
If you have any questions about UWC and the type of program Junior has been accepted to, I'd be happy to respond as well.
