We are raising funds for our incredible friend, community worker, spirit worker, dreamer, and beautiful soul, June, so that he can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK and survive and thrive as a disabled artist.

June has spent his life dreaming up a better world for others. Now it’s time for us to help make one possible for him.

A passionate artist, curator and community organiser, June brings deep care, vision, and transformation into the lives of those around him. He pours his energy into community, and has been the beating heart behind vital grassroots initiatives including GGI, a nightlife community space for East and Southeast Asian queer and trans diaspora, and the trans healthcare fund We Exist.

For the past decade, June has lived in London with no recourse to public funds, surviving paycheque to paycheque through freelance gigs and gig economy work without contracts, benefits, or security.

It’s incredibly hard to be a disabled, working-class, trans artist with no family support in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Without stable immigration status, June has been trapped in precarity, unable to access basic resources and plan for the future.

This GoFundMe is about more than paperwork. It’s about helping someone who has always shown up for others finally get to rest, heal, and live without fear.

Why are we crowdfunding?

June is coming to the end of his five-year Global Talent Visa – which is also the end of his right to live in the UK, unless he applies for settled status before 30th September. Being granted Indefinite Leave to Remain would finally free June from the costly and stressful cycle of short-term visa applications, and enable him to build a secure and stable life in the country he’s called home for the past decade.

We’re also asking for your support in helping to cover some of his disability-related living costs. As a first-generation child of refugee and immigrant parents, with an inheritance of complex trauma, and as a disabled, auDHD trans person, June lives within particular marginalisations that make day-to-day life more challenging. Since March 2024, he has been living with an energy-limiting disability, which has left him mostly unable to work; and on his artist visa, he has been unable to access any benefits, including PIP and Universal Credit. Instead he has been forced to be financially dependent on his partner, who cannot afford these expenses alone.

June has lived most of his life in survival mode, while building joy, safety, and possibility for others. June has no savings and no financial safety net. What he does have is a powerful, generous heart and a community that believes in and loves him, very dearly.
