My name is June Holland, I’m an independent singer-songwriter from just south of Manchester, and I’m here to raise funds for the creation of my very first EP!
A Little About Me
At the end of 2023, I took a leap of faith to pursue my dream of being a full-time musician. This decision came after a run of really tough events in my personal life, which made me realise that life’s too short not to chase your calling.
The first couple of years as an independent artist haven’t been completely smooth sailing, but they’ve been incredibly rewarding. I’ve had the chance to support some amazing artists, receive radio play across the UK, US, and Australia (including BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Introducing), and even got the opportunity to open the main stage at my first major festival this year!
The Journey So Far
Up until now, I’ve been self-producing and releasing all my music from my bedroom — squeaky floorboards and all! I had zero background in production, so I spent hours teaching myself through YouTube tutorials, and have somehow managed to release 9 original singles on all major streaming platforms.
It’s been a massive learning curve and a labour of love, and I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. But for my debut EP, I want to take things to the next level...
The Vision: Out of the Darkness and Into the Light
This EP will tell my story of navigating through some of the hardest times in my life and finding strength and light on the other side. It’s an emotional journey that reflects the growth, healing, and hope I’ve found through music.
To bring this vision to life, I want to:
- Record a 4 track EP in a professional studio (an upgrade from my DIY bedroom setup!).
- Work with a studio engineer to achieve the best possible sound.
- Hire session musicians and pay them fairly for their work.
- Get the tracks mixed and mastered professionally for a high-quality release.
- Print 500 physical copies of the EP - If you’ve ever seen me live, you’ll know how much I love performing and connecting with people through music. I’m often asked if I have any CDs for sale and with only a back-catalogue of singles, I always have to say no. So, for this EP, I would love to finally print some physical CDs! I hope to produce 500 copies featuring the 4 tracks plus an exclusive bonus track available only on the physical release.

The music industry can be a tough space for independent artists. I’m constantly gigging and working hard to make ends meet, but with grassroots venues struggling and live music under pressure, it’s harder than ever to cover the costs of professional recording/production.
