My name is June Evans, and I am unfortunately in a bind so deep that it hurts to think about. My family is facing eviction and I need help to move into a new place. I lost my job back in February when the coup started. I applied for and received unemployment, and put in hundreds of applications. No bite until September. Meanwhile, I wanted to open my own business, fostering kids, but the A/C unit broke during June/July, took 6 weeks to fix, and flooded onto the floor, ruining it. So, not safe for kids, couldn't get up and running.

I paid rent through the end of July, was so grateful to keep up despite not having a job. Then, the landlords called August 1st to tell me to get out. See, they want someone else to pay for their repairs. Never mind I managed to keep up payments through all of this, although I had to split it up! I refused to leave and tried to negotiate, but these domestic terrorists are prolific. So, at the end of August, they filed a lawsuit and by the end of September got a judgment to evict us.

Thank God Missouri law allows for a response within 10 days of the dated judgment, so I requested a new trial! Praise God, we were not put out. But here's where it's gotten trickier.

I exhausted all my unemployment benefits and a small 401K so I could pay rent and that hideous cooling bill. My friends and family have been with us through thick and thin, but now even they have to tap out because things are getting tighter and tighter the longer this coup, tariffs, shutdown, treasonous foolishness continues.

In August, I applied for help via a local organization, and they finally responded - after the eviction judgment, beginning of October. They say all I need is to give them a signed lease, and MAYBE they could assist us with a deposit and first month's rent.

Of course, there are several issues/problems:

1. I was still unemployed until last weekend. I finally got hired - Yay! But my job doesn't start until 11/4, and my first paycheck won't be until 11/21 - Awww!

2. I am down to my last $50, and we need toilet paper and food. So, I cannot afford the rental application fees for 2 adults.

3. They run out of funds quickly. So they may not be able to help.

4. It's only me and my son. His heart is big, and he has used part of his disability to help pay as much as he can this year. Since he cannot work, it's been very hard.

My car was repossessed last year, or else I'd be dashing. I just don't want us to be homeless because we just came through the toughest 5 years of our lives when my son was first diagnosed with epilepsy, which I cannot go into all the details without crying... watching him suffer was hard, but thanks be to Jesus Christ, he has come out the other side and is doing better by degrees every day.

So, I appeal to you compassionate human beings for some help right now. I would use funds raised to pay for a U-Haul moving truck, some movers, rental application fees x 2, a deposit and first month's rent. If I can secure the lease and that local organization can help before the next court date, that would take a huge burden off my shoulders. Maybe I could sleep again, just in time to start working. Any help is appreciated and I will pay it forward when I can. God bless you all, whether or not you give.
