Help June and the Bernal Family fight Cancer

This is Maggie and Sam on behalf of our little girl, June.

on January 24th, a tumor was discovered in June’s brain, and a week later we had an operation to remove her tumor.

After the operation and multiple MRI’s, and a meeting with our oncologist, we’ve learned that she has an Anaplastic ependymoma (grade 3) tumor, some of which is still in her brain and on her lower back. This is the most aggressive form of this tumor.

The current plan is to wait about 30 days before we start chemotherapy, and our hope is that chemo will keep her tumors from growing until she’s at least 5-10 years old. Then, we would do radiation therapy. The reason for not doing radiation now is due to the consequences it can have on her developing brain.

Our fervent hope is that our doctors find the perfect chemotherapy treatment to suppress the growth and hopefully even shrink the tumors so she can grow strong over the next few years.

It will be a long, difficult road for us, but we are going to remain optimistic and we will infuse positivity and hope and good energy to help June fight off this cancer.

This fund will help us with the many bills and cost of treatment, expenses in getting family in to support, as well as Maggie quitting work so she can support June full time. We have no idea what everything will look like, but any help counts.
