We are asking for financial assistance for our Papa, To An Ong Jr.

He’s been admitted at St. Luke’s Hospital since March 23. A CT scan revealed 4 liver abscesses that are the source of his infection. They tried to drain the abscesses without surgery, but they were already solid. They also tried to control the infection with antibiotics, but his condition didn’t improve. He had to undergo a risky 4-hour surgery last April 9.

After surgery, his organ functions dropped to 20%, and he was moved to the ICU. By God’s grace and through everyone’s prayers, his organs improved in just 4 days. He was released from the ICU last April 14 and is now slowly recovering.

This is already his third hospital admission in two months. After his ICU stay, the hospital asked us to pay 50% of the running bill or they will pause care. The 50% was almost ₱1M. Now, the remaining balance is close to ₱1M and still increasing.

The doctors have plans to discharge Papa next week, but sadly, we no longer have funds to settle the final bill.

We are seeking help from PCSO and DOH, but the process takes time. The hospital does not allow promissory notes unless the patient has passed away. If we can’t pay the full bill upon discharge, they will transfer Papa to the ward and keep him there until the bill is paid in full.
