Welcome, welcome! For those who may not know me, my name is Juma DeJesus aka. ThePapiiiMystic. I am a Queer, Non-binary, Latinx multidisciplinary artist and I am so grateful to share that I've been invited on a trip to study in Peru, this upcoming fall. Over the course of three weeks, I will have the incredible opportunity to study and learn from the indigenous Shipibo people in Pucallpa, Peru.

During my stay with them, I will learn to work with several different master plants that are used for holistic healing and medicine. These powerful plant medicines help aid in healing our emotional, physical, mental, energetic, and spiritual bodies. The wisdom, clarity, joy, healing, creativity, cleansing, and openness these ancient plantas can bring is truly incredible.

After my first ceremonial experience with the plant medicine of Ayahuasca, I felt a deep remembrance and calling in my spirit to find a way to deepen my education and relationship to plant medicine. And then this opportunity came knocking at my door and in my heart, it felt like fate. I have always said that if a pathway opened to begin my studies with plant medicine, I would want to study and learn from its origins. When it comes to travel, it is essential to my being that I go with the set intention to be in right relation to the land, to the indigenous people, and to the spirits of those places. And even before the medicine was a part of my life, I had always felt a strong calling to travel to South America. Half of my beloved lineage on my mother's side is rooted in Ecuador, and this will be my first experience on the sacred land of my Amazonian Ancestros.

So I come to you with open arms to ask for your support in helping me achieve my financial goal so I can attend this healing trip of a lifetime and begin to step into my journey of becoming a medicine person. These three weeks will not only contribute to deepening my personal healing but also the healing of my lineage and the ripples of healing throughout my community. I will bring back the ancient wisdom and knowledge I will gain from the plants, the indigenous people, and mother earth herself. I can say from my heart that my first experience with the plant medicine Ayahuasca, transformed my life. It helped me, as someone who identifies as a healer, truly get down to the root of my pain/suffering and begin to deprogram and heal past pains, traumas, fears, western ideologies,etc. On levels I’ve never been able to access before. This powerful medicine has provided me with a lens of clarity, allowing me to witness the full totality of the truth of who I am and the magic I am here to create in this world. And this journey is a part of that creation.

My vision for the world at this moment is: Embodied Togetherness and Embodied Freedom. You know the phrase, “we are not free until we are all free!” I believe that! And I feel deeply that as I radically free myself, I can radically help in freeing others. Loving others. Uplifting others. Holding spaces for us to get into our sacred bodies. Holding spaces for us to embody our radical self-expression. Holding spaces for us to connect to each other and to source, to universe, to God, whatever you want to call them. And while taking those embodied actions, continuing to honor the ancestors, our plant allies, mother earth, and together through our hearts making this world a better place.
