Dear fellow bison! My name is Julissa De Anda, commonly known as Juju, a freshman political science major from San Jose, California. I have been playing rugby for three years now, beginning my journey during my junior year of high school as a founding member of the first HS women’s rugby team in San Jose; WCO Royal Rugby. For two years I fell in love with the sport and continued to seek the involvement of underrepresented POC in competitive women’s rugby. My senior year of HS, I decided to reach out to Howard University Women’s Rugby and now I play along side the most fearless women I know, representing the Howard’s Herd both on and off the pitch. One of my accomplishments includes winning HUWRC rookie of the year while maintaining a 4.0 GPA the entire semester. As a fellow Bison and athlete who dreams of playing at the next level, I am asking for your support to represent Howard at the INTERNATIONAL level. I have been selected to play with Mexico’s International U19 Women’s Rugby Team and would be proud to demonstrate what a Howard athlete is capable of. Donations would cover travel expenses (mainly flights) to Monterrey, Mexico. Any donation, share, or post is greatly appreciated and I want to thank you for all the massive support! :) - sincerely, Juju
