My name is Zeke, and I created this fundraiser on behalf of my mom to help my uncle, her brother after an unexpected and emotional turn in our family’s life. For more than 20 years, my mom searched for her brother, carrying the pain and uncertainty of not knowing where he was or what had happened to him. In 2022, our family was led to believe that he had passed away, and he was wrongfully declared deceased by a family member.
Recently, someone reached out to my mom with the incredible news that her brother is actually alive.
After more than two decades of heartbreak, uncertainty, and believing she had lost him, finding out that he is alive has brought my mom an overwhelming sense of relief but it has also made us realize how much help he needs. My uncle has been experiencing homelessness and is currently facing challenges that have made it difficult for him to maintain a stable life. As my mom begins rebuilding their relationship and reconnecting with him, we want to give him the opportunity to have a safer and more stable future.
Funds raised will help with his immediate needs, identification documents, transportation, basic necessities, and other expenses involved in getting him settled. Because our family lives in Arkansas while my uncle is currently in New Jersey, some of the funds will also help with travel and the process of bringing him closer to family. Our hope is that, when he is ready and willing, we can help him come home to Arkansas and begin rebuilding his life surrounded by people who care about him. We understand that this will take time, and ultimately, the decision is his. We simply want to make sure that when he is ready, he has the support and resources he needs.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean so much to our family. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would also be an incredible help. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us give my uncle a second chance at stability, family, and a fresh start.
