Help Julien and Mia go to summer camp together!

Hi all,

My name is Jessica Wheeler and I am looking for help in supporting my amazing friend with sending her two beautiful kiddos to Camp Yakety Yak this summer! Kata is one of my coworkers who has become a close friend, she and I were having a lovely conversation about her son Julien and daughter Mia at my desk, and she shared her story of raising a baby, a neurodivergant son and a neurotypical daughter. Kata's son Julien is eight, his sister Mia is five. Come to find out there are not many camps in our area that support children with special needs like Juliens, and the ones that do are at a much higher cost than regular camps. It is also extremely hard to find a camp that supports both neurodivergent kiddos and their neurotypical siblings in one setting. Kata told me a heartwarming story about Mia seeing her brother sitting on a swing at school with no one to push him, she proceeded to leave her friend group and walked over to push Julien. The teachers on the playground saw the entire interaction happen, when recess was over Julien said "I love you" to his sister. Because Julien is mostly non verbal there was not a dry eye on that playground in that moment. As Kata told me this story she closed her eyes and said "I just love them so much". It was at this very moment my heart exploded with love and I went into instant how can I support mode! Gone are the days that one parent can stay home to care for the family without financial struggle. This camp is a must for her family so that she and her husband can continue to work and provide. My goal in all of this is to raise enough money to send these two beautiful children to camp where they can grow and learn together without breaking the bank. Or, at least help pay for some of the cost required for specialized camps such as this one. My fundraising goal is three thousand, but anything is greatly appreciated.
