I have been fighting an illness for about seven months, and during this time, I haven’t been able to work. I’ve relied on Lincoln Financial to keep my disability claim approved, but now I’m unable to collect short-term disability and have been fighting for long-term approval for the past month and a half. It’s been a month and a half since I’ve received any income, and my claim was recently denied. Now, I’m forced to appeal this decision, which means even more waiting and uncertainty.

Because of this, I’m past due on all of my bills—some are two months overdue. My phone has already been shut off, and my internet will be next. Every day, I worry that my car will be repossessed. I have until the end of the week to find rent money, or I’ll be kicked out of my apartment. I’ve always worked hard for what I have, and it’s difficult to accept that I can’t work right now. I’ve tried every avenue for help, but I’m out of options and can’t afford to lose my home.

The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward my rent, car payment, internet, and electric bill—essentials that I need to stay safe and connected while I appeal my disability claim. After that, anything extra will help with other bills that aren’t absolutely necessary right now. I would appreciate any help I could get because I am physically unable to pack my things and move them out. I don’t know what I would do with them even if I could.
