Help Julie Steede start over after house fire
Donation protected
Julie’s niece, Rachel, her son, Steve, and I are starting this to help Julie completely start over after losing her home in a house fire early Sunday morning.
They awoke to smoke beginning to fill the bedroom and soon discovered the entire bottom floor was engulfed in flames. Glenn, her roommate, had gone down the stairs but quickly had to escape through the back door. Julie was able to jump out of her 2nd story window to safety. She ended up with smoke inhalation and frostbite on her feet after having to run around barefoot, but Glenn wasn’t as lucky. He is currently being treated for severe burns to his upper body at the U of M burn center and will have a long road to recovery.
Julie has practically lived for her grandchildren since they were born and they both had their own beds and belongings at the home as well. She has a 6 year old grandson and 2 year old granddaughter. Julie is temporarily staying with me, but will eventually need to find a new place to call home. The home and all of the contents were a complete loss, and unfortunately, neither of them had renters insurance.
Please help in any way you can, even if it’s just a share to get the word out.
She is also in the process of setting up an account at TruNorth for donations, and any other donations can be dropped off at her place of employment-the Paradise Bar in Ishpeming.
