Help Julie Smith and her children
I'm Todd Whirley, a pastor at New Covenant Church in Denham Springs, LA, and I'm fundraising for Julie Smith who lost her husband, Clay, in a tragic car wreck Monday August 16, 2021. In addition to his wife, Clay leaves behind 7 children who are 23, 21, 19, 17, 15, 12, and 6. Julie is a stay-at-home mom who homeschools her children. Clay was a self-employed master mechanic who repaired vehicles from his shop behind their home which he recently built and opened after many years repairing vehicles for a dealership.
This picture is a few years old but shows Clay, Julie, and their 7 children along with their daughter-in-law (on the far right). Not pictured is their son-in-law.
As you can imagine, this family is devastated by Clay's death as are all their friends. Clay was a follower of Christ and led his family in worshiping the Lord. These are the finest people you could ever hope to meet. Clay was a devoted husband, loving father, faithful friend, and worked very hard to support his family. He was a man who would gladly give the shirt off his back and help anyone in need. Now, Clay's family needs our help.
Please pray about helping us support Julie and her children and give as you feel led. The needs are many.
If you have questions or want to drop off or send a gift by mail instead of giving online, contact me, Todd, by clicking the Contact button here on this page.
I along with two of our deacons and their wives, Jeff Byrd (wife Secunda) and Philip Aucoin (wife Becky), are helping to organize help for this family. Despite my name (Todd) appearing (as the organizer), all online gifts will go directly to Julie Smith's bank account and all in-person gifts will be delivered to Julie by our deacons.
Please keep the Smith family in your prayers.
