My name is Julie Rinker and I am a human rights educator, Ph.D. student, and art quilt creator. I am reaching out for your support as I have recently moved away from Texas, the most executing state in the U.S., in order to pursue graduate studies in the area of Special Education.

Though I am no longer present to the work of death penalty abolition as I once was, I intend to organize collective effort towards empowering the workers who are still there.

100% of your funds will go to on the ground workers.

50% will go to currently serving abolitionists in need. I will partner with Death Penalty Action to provide earned funds to people who are directly affected by the state's use of the death penalty. I will ask to share the stories of my incredible friends who are already doing the long, hard work of abolition.

50% will build capacity for a future that is death penalty free. Funds raised by 4/30/25 will be allocated for an Abolition Fellowship fund through Death Penalty Action's media sites to support students to attend the 32nd Annual Fast and Vigil to Abolish the Death Penalty.

Whether or not you agree with the United State's use of the death penalty, I encourage you to learn more. I will encourage the students I come in contact with to do the same so that they may form their own opinions on the matter. We are not here to change your mind, merely to empower those who believe the death penalty is wrong to do what they can right where they are.
