Julie and I have taught together for 10 years, and in that time, she’s become not just a coworker but a truly dear friend. Julie is a devoted mother to two wonderful boys in high school, and her kindness and warmth have touched so many lives in our community. Recently, Julie and her family experienced an unimaginable tragedy—a house fire that destroyed nearly everything they owned. The loss was made even more heartbreaking by the passing of their beloved family cat, who died from smoke inhalation.

In the aftermath of the fire, Julie and her boys are facing the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. They need help replacing essentials like clothes, food, and furniture as they get back on their feet. The road ahead is challenging, but I know that with the support of our community, we can make a real difference for Julie and her family.
