Help Julie Oxedine Rebuild After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
My name is Ronan Pendergrass. I am 13 years old and I live in Kermit, Texas. My ZaZa’s name is Julie Oxedine. She is my grandma and we call her Zaza.
I am writing this for my brother, Rafe and me but mostly for my Zaza.
She takes care of me and my brother Rafe and everyone else too. Rafe is 11 and kind of a nuisance but he is my brother. On Wednesday, December 18th, her house burned down. She had lived there for 16 years and we lived there too. She lost everything. She needs help. She helps everyone else and is always doing things for anyone who needs help.
The fire was horrible. She had two dogs, Hercules and Athena. They are ok, but she had just gotten me a new cat named Mila and my aunt was visiting and her cat named Toulouse was there too. They both were killed in the fire. We were all so sad that we lost our kitties. The firefighters said it was the worst fire they had ever worked in our town.
Since it’s almost Christmas it makes it super hard for all of us but especially her because she loves Christmas. She always has made our life so much better in every way. She always does everything to make all of the holidays special but Christmas for sure. She has been so sad and crying a lot. But mostly she tries to make us laugh and smile and tells us it will all be ok.
My ZaZa has been having a hard time lately. First, she was in an accident and wrecked and totaled her pickup, and that was the only car she had. Then, on Tuesday night before the fire, my aunt had an accident and wrecked her car on her way to visit.
ZaZa works at the courthouse in Kermit and Winkler County. She also cleans houses and offices and any other job she can do anytime to help make ends meet. She is a strong, tough person. She loves all of her family and friends. She has been so upset and sad and worried. She keeps saying that she is just so thankful everyone was safe, but we all lost everything and I know she is so worried. Any help that anyone could give her would be so wonderful. I know in our little town many kind people have started helping. It makes me feel so good when I see how people are really happy to help other people. I don’t want her to be sad and worried and cry so much anymore. She is such a great person and doesn’t deserve to be so hurt and worried about taking care of us. Thank you and I hope that you will help her.
Thank you
