Dear Friends and Family,
I am reaching out today to ask for your support for my cousin, Julie, who is in urgent need of a heart transplant.
Julie has been fighting for her life since she was just 7 months old, spending years in and out of hospitals. Now, as she approaches her 21st birthday this May, her condition has reached a critical point. For years, she has relied on a ventricular assist device (VAD) to keep her heart functioning, but it is no longer enough to sustain her.
Julie has been receiving treatment in Aswan, which is a 14-hour train ride from her family’s home in Cairo. Despite the distance, her father has continuously traveled back and forth to be by her side and ensure she receives the care she needs. She has been treated at the Aswan Heart Centre for Research under the Dr. Magdi Yacoub Foundation. She has been there for about a year now and has not been able to leave or go home because she is waiting for a heart transplant and now can't leave without one.
After years of uncertainty, Julie finally has a chance at life. She has been accepted for a heart transplant at the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi.
However, the financial burden is overwhelming. The total cost of the procedure is $1,200,000 AED (approximately $326,700 USD), This is a cost her family cannot manage alone.
Julie deserves the chance to live a normal, healthy life after everything she has endured. Any donation, no matter the amount, will bring her closer to receiving this life-saving transplant.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand and kindly ask for your prayers. We also welcome any advice, resources, or connections regarding heart transplant options or financial assistance.
Thank you for your support, generosity, and prayers.
