Just one week after welcoming her beautiful baby into the world through an emergency C-section, my sister’s life was turned upside down. She was diagnosed with serous carcinoma, a fast-moving and aggressive form of cancer. Instead of recovering and enjoying her first days with her newborn, she is now facing a frightening medical battle while still healing from surgery. She will need treatment, care, and time to focus on her health and her baby and this means her husband, Harley, will need to be by her side. Harley will be missing work to care for both my sister and the baby, which means they will lose their main source of income. On top of that, without work, Harley will lose the work truck their only source of transportation at the moment, adding another huge challenge for the family. Bills at home won’t stop coming, and medical expenses are already piling up. We are asking for help to keep them afloat during this overwhelming time to cover rent, utilities, food, baby essentials, and transportation costs so they can focus on what truly matters: healing and caring for their new baby.
