Help Julie Fight Acute Myeloid Leukemia, One Step Closer to Healing!
Our beautiful Julie, just 50 years old, is facing the fight of her life. She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), an aggressive and life-threatening form of cancer. Since the day of her diagnosis, she’s faced every obstacle with fierce determination, unshakable courage, and the stubbornness we all know and love.
Recently, Julie was rushed to the ICU, where she battled a serious infection like the fighter she is. Even at her lowest, she kept her spirit strong and her sense of humor intact, because she doesn't know any other way!
Now, she’s preparing for the most critical chapter of her journey: a bone marrow transplant in Ottawa. It will be a long and difficult road, but Julie is ready. She’s not only fighting for her own life, she’s fighting for the people who mean everything to her: her 3 children and 6 beautiful grandchildren, who miss their “Mema” more than words can say. They’re holding onto hope, waiting for the day she walks back through the door with one of her big bear hugs and that smile that lights up the room.
Julie has never had an easy life. She’s endured more hardship than most people could imagine, and somehow, through it all, she’s always been the strong one. The one who never asked for anything. But now, she needs help. Her only source of income is a fixed disability, and the financial burden of this fight is overwhelming. Life-saving medications and dental procedures needed to protect her during her treatment, and none of it is fully covered.
Julie is my sister, my best friend, and the heart of our family. Watching her go through this has been heartbreaking, and yet, she continues to inspire us every single day with her resilience, her laughter, and her unwavering love. She still has so much living left to do. More stories to tell. More dancing in the kitchen. More spontaneous yoga stretches. More episodes of Three’s Company to rewatch. More grandbabies to spoil. She promised me, long ago, that we’d grow old together, me at 90, her at 101, causing mischief in the old folks’ home, chasing each other down the halls and making the nurses roll their eyes... and I’m holding her to that...but to get there, she needs our help right now.
Every donation, every share, and every prayer brings Julie one step closer to healing. From our family to yours, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Let’s help our warrior win this fight.
