Hello friends, family, mentors and community, My name is Julie Molina. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology at California State University, Los Angeles, with a specialization in the ABA Certificate Program (enrolled) and an expected graduation in December 2026. I am also a practicing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). I graduated with honors from Cerritos College in May 2025, earning an Associate of Arts for Transfer (A.A.-T.) in Psychology and an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Social and Behavioral Science.
My life’s work is dedicated to understanding human behavior—specifically supporting individuals with autism through 1:1 ABA therapy. I am thrilled to share that I have been selected to serve on the 2026 Western Psychological Association (WPA) Student Council. This April, I will be traveling to Tacoma, WA, not only to represent my university but to serve the psychology community as a Badge Monitor and student ambassador.
As an aspiring psychologist with research interests in Self-Injury Behavior, PTSD, and Public Health, attending WPA is a critical step in my professional development. This year is special because I am moving from being a volunteer (as I was in Las Vegas in 2025) to a leadership role on the Student Council. My responsibilities include ensuring a safe and organized environment for thousands of attendees, acting as a liaison for students submitting research, and representing Cal State LA and the Hispanic Federation’s CREAR Futuros program.
Between my studies, my work as an RBT, and my leadership roles in Alpha Sigma Tau and CREAR Futuros, I am working hard to self-fund my education. However, the costs of a professional conference add up quickly. I am seeking to raise funds to cover travel expenses to Tacoma, AirBNB/Hotel stay, conference registration fees, and professional attire for my council duties.
I have always believed in the values of Graciousness, Respect, Intellect, Connection, and Excellence. By supporting my journey to WPA 2026, you aren't just funding a trip; you are investing in a future BCBA dedicated to improving public health and behavior services. I will be sharing updates, key takeaways from the research sessions, and "behind-the-scenes" looks at the convention on my social media so you can see your impact in action!
