Help Julie and Susie Stay Warm This Winter
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family...
We are humbly requesting help with keeping warm this winter. We usually have three loads of wood stocked by now each year. In the past, with our three combined incomes (mine, Susie's, and our mom's) and the help of Adopt-A-Native Elder program, we always had enough wood to last us through winter. And propane is also very important for us in so many ways.
With Mom's passing this year, we now have $3500 less each month (because we no longer have her social security or our employment income for taking care of her each month). Also, we have tried reaching out to the local wood for elderly programs, but to no avail.
We would like to raise $1500 for wood and propane. We usually buy firewood from an Hispanic family in Winslow. The cost is $450/cord plus a $50 delivery fee (round trip is about 90 miles). The wood is cleaned and logs are cut to stove width. Our grandson helps to stack the wood once delivered. And our propane is getting low, and the cost for about 100 gallons is around $400.
Julie was counting on making jewelry to raise some funds, but she still has very little strength in her arms, shoulders, and neck, so that is not possible yet. (She recently received her surgeon's approval to start physical therapy, but regaining her strength could be a long and difficult journey.)
Two cords of wood, and the propane, would be a good amount to get us started as the cold season approaches. We greatly appreciate your kindness and assistance in helping us keep warm. May you all be blessed by your generosity.
Love and blessings,
Julie and Susie McCabe
