Help Julie and Steve After Eaton Fire.

My name is Kiersten Yamamoto, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my aunt Julie and uncle Steve, who tragically lost their home and 9 month-old kitten in the Eaton Fire—along with far too many other friends and neighbors we know.

Our family has been part of the Altadena/Pasadena community for decades, and my aunt and uncle have called this home since 1996.

Julie is an LA native, and Steve was born and raised here in Pasadena. This community means everything to them, and they’ve poured so much love and energy into it. Julie worked for the City of Pasadena for decades before retiring, and Steve, even after retiring, took a job at Gelson’s deli just to connect with people and make them laugh. They’ve always been the kind of people who make others smile and feel cared for.

Their home wasn’t just a house; it was a symbol of everything they worked hard for and built together. Their home was filled with memories and love.

Julie and Steve have supported their family, friends, and neighbors in countless ways over the years. Starting this GoFundMe is the least I can do to try and give back to them because they’d never do it themselves. But in times like this, every bit of support matters as we come together to help rebuild not only their lives but also the larger Pasadena and Altadena community affected by this disaster.

Whether it’s through monetary contributions or other forms of support, every gesture makes a difference. The silver lining in this tragedy has been seeing our community unite, lean on one another, and show love during such a challenging time.
