As if we haven't had enough the last few years, My brother left 5 dogs behind without any consultation. So we were made responsible for their physical, emotional, spiritual, & don't forget FINANCIAL well being. Two of them were only a few weeks old. Now we have 8 with ours, 6 males and 2 females. They are all Zuko & Rocco's siblings. We had to dog and puppy proof without warning . That is challenging, epically if there're not house broke and they mark their territory. We now have 6 gates, 5 kennels all to keep them safe. We had to replace a couple of couches along with countless shoes and tv remotes. We do more loads of towels and blankets than a resort!. We are in the process of fencing in the yard. Babies need to run! Then came the over $5000 vet bill for the spade (3 litters in 3 years) , neutering & vaccinations. That is just the beginning of the vet bills ,with the allergies and the puppies still need neutered and the rest of their vacations. Then getting everyone micro chipped! Providing the 100lbs of food a week is our new life. We would have never chose this but the "burden" has been a blessing for me. My recovery from my accident has been a real struggle and slow going. This could be all I can achieve with the major head injury. Without being able to work and perform my normal tasks, the dogs have really helped with my well being. They keep me focused & occupied giving me the feeling of self worth along with a big smile! There's never dull moment!!! It's wonderful being able to take care of them, it gives me feeling of purpose. Phillip & Kristopher have been caring for me. That has been extremely hard and kills me. That's what I loved to to do. That vet bill was money going towards Kristopher first truck. He insisted and delay that.
The year was a struggle! We didn't ask for this, but wouldn't want it any other way. Lots of positives have been gained!!! This is a tough decision asking for help.
