I'm Julie's friend and neighbor.
Julie Frampton is in Stage 5 kidney failure and is in a lot of pain… pain in every joint and bone, including fingers and head. Stage 5 means kidneys work less than 15% of healthy kidneys. Her doctor says there is no cure, no treatment. Julie should not have to suffer such pain without relief.
BACKGROUND
Having been diagnosed with bilateral renal cell carcinoma, Julie had one kidney removed and the other partially removed surgically. She was hospitalized for 6 weeks with sepsis, septic shock, and encephalopathy (temporarily affecting brain function). After surgery the cancer report was clear, but then she needed dialysis treatment 3 times a week. She has taken a break from dialysis due to its effect on her heart.
The standard pain-killers affect her negatively and her nephrologist recommended marijuana as a replacement, as it will not have a negative effect, but would give her relief from all over pain.
THE GOAL ($3,000)
For her, the cost of medical marijuana is prohibitive, so it’s my hope she will receive donations of $2900-$3000 that would cover:
1. The cost of the appointment to apply for the card: $398
2. Florida’s fee per year: $75-100
3. The cost of the marijuana: $200 per month for 12 months.
She’s a lovely woman who is grateful for every day she has. A widow, her husband Gregory died in a Blackhawk helicopter crash in Afghanistan in January 2003. It was 20 years before she was able to receive a small survivor benefit after his death.
Please be generous.
