At the end of December 2025, beloved cat rescuer, activist, and dear friend to many Julia Röhl passed away after a brief battle with cancer. In addition to the humans who are missing her, Julia’s five cats are without their devoted human. Julia entrusted us, her fellow rescuers, with their care.
Our goal with this fundraiser is to provide her cats, Nikkita, RosaMa, Venus, Sushumna, and Baby Sir, the veterinary care they need as we work towards finding them all their new forever homes.
We are looking to raise our current goal of $5,000 to ensure each cat’s needs are fully met and their transitions to their next homes are as smooth as possible. Several of her cats so far have some unexpected medical needs, including Nikkita who needs dental surgery and biopsy of her lip, and Sushumna who needs an echocardiogram for a heart murmur.
$3400: Nikkita’s updated vaccines, wellness exam, and an increasingly urgent dental surgery and biopsy of a mass on her lip (estimate on dental + biopsy)
$1000: Sushumna’s updated vaccines, wellness exam, and echocardiogram to assess a recently discovered heart murmur
$300: Baby Sir’s updated vaccines, wellness exam, and an emergency appointment for a urinary blockage
$300: Venus and Rosama’s updated vaccines and wellness exams
Funders will receive regular updates, including documented specific costs for each cat.

Should any funds remain after all Julia’s cats have received the care they need and they have found their next forever homes, a donation to a local rescue will be made in Julia’s honor, continuing her commitment to the care and protection of animals.
Thank you for helping us continue Julia’s love and care for her cats and becoming part of her legacy.
We all love and miss you, Julia.
