My name is Juliana, and I play the clarinet in the Atkins High School Wind Ensemble. I’m excited to share that our ensemble has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City over Easter weekend. This is a huge honor for us—Carnegie Hall is one of the most iconic performance spaces in the world, and only the best groups are selected to play there. Our invitation reflects the dedication and talent of everyone in the Atkins Wind Ensemble, and I’m so proud to be part of this group.

I started learning the clarinet during remote learning due to Covid, and I’ve now been playing for six years. Music has been a constant source of inspiration and growth for me, and being part of the Atkins Wind Ensemble has given me the chance to develop my skills and connect with others who share my passion. This trip to Carnegie Hall is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We’ll get to rehearse, perform, and work with internationally acclaimed conductors and adjudicators, which will help me grow as a musician and as a person.

However, traveling to New York City comes with significant expenses, including travel, lodging, and meals. I’m raising funds to help cover these costs so I can represent my school, my community, and my love of music on that incredible stage.
