Hello everyone, I am starting this fundraiser to help my close friend and roomate Julian Castano for a family emergency.

Today on Monday, May 19th, Julian was informed that his mother Rosalba Castano unexpectedly passed away at the near age of 57. Rosalba was not dealt an easy hand at life, especially after surviving breast cancer in 2023. Despite all trials as a single mother, she gave everything to care for her only son.

Julian is an upcoming senior at the Cleveland Institute of Art, and recently moved into his first apartment with us. He was planning to fly back home to Orlando, Florida on Tuesday to spend time with her this summer before coming back to Cleveland for the fall semester. Not only did his mother give him the world, he did the same for her.

With already existing financial struggles, this situation undoubtedly is adding extra stress at this pivotal point. All donations are going to Julian and used for the cost of flights, rent, funeral expenses, and all other necessary life needs.

Rosalba, we will miss hearing Julian refer to us as "mi amigas" while on his 3rd phone call of the day with you, your scoldings over his tattoos, and the endless thanks you gave us for taking care of your son. I wish we could have met, but now we will do everything we can to make sure he is in just as good hands.
