I’m Julia, and I’m asking for help as I prepare for gender affirming surgery. This is an important step in my life, and while I’m grateful to be able to move forward, I’m also facing the very real financial strain that comes with recovery. I just got back from a long tour and am already carrying debt, so this recovery period is hitting at an especially difficult time. I will be out of work while I heal, and I need support to make sure I have a safe room to recover in and the stability to focus on getting better. My insurance is based in New York, but there are still recovery-related costs and everyday expenses that I need help covering during this time.

I’m creating this fundraiser because I want to give myself the best chance to recover with dignity, rest, and peace of mind. The funds raised will help cover a room for recovery, recovery expenses, basic living costs, and some of the financial strain I’m under while I’m unable to work. Any support helps.
