Hi everyone!
I’m really excited to share that I will be recording my debut album! After finishing 4 years of my undergrad at DePaul University, I feel like I’m as ready as I’ll ever be to start releasing my music. I’m so grateful to be working alongside Dennis Tousana who will be the engineer on this project at the iconic Soundmine Studios.
The first date of recording will be on October 2nd of this year featuring an amazing band of those I consider my mentors: Dana Hall on drums, Clark Sommers on bass, Joshua Achiron on guitar, and Chris Madsen on tenor saxophone. We will be recording some of my favorite tunes and arrangements I’ve written.
I will also be recording an arrangement I wrote for a string quintet which I’m super excited for! I’ll be featuring Natalie Frakes and her string quartet, as well as Clark on bass. This is really special to me because I’ve worked on this specific arrangement of Nat King Cole’s “Beautiful Moons Ago” for almost 6 months and to hear it finally come into fruition will be a dream come true.
On November 10th, I’ll be back at the studio with four other incredible vocalists singing an a cappella arrangement I wrote of Billy Eckstine’s “I Want To Talk About You”. Throughout my life, I’ve spent a lot of time singing with other vocalists in choirs, a capella groups, and vocal jazz ensembles. If you know me, you know that I absolutely adore singing with other vocalists so recording this arrangement is very close and special to me. I’ll be featuring some of Chicago’s most beloved vocalists: Alyssa Allgood, Kathryn Sherman, Andrew Dahan, and Joe Labozetta. I’ve learned so much from each and every one of these incredible people.
Come hear some of this music live September 19th at the Jazz Showcase and October 8th & 22nd at Andy’s Jazz Club!
It would mean the world if you could help and support this dream by sharing this with your friends and family. Being that this is my first big and real project, any size donation is greatly appreciated.
