Bring Aunty’s Cafe to Life — A Community Dream That Needs Your Support!
Hi, I’m Julia, a proud Black woman born in Barbados and raised in the vibrant neighborhood of Flatbush, Brooklyn. For over 12 years, I’ve poured my heart into the coffee industry, building not just a career but deep connections with people who’ve become like family. I started my coffee journey at Google NYC's café, and now, I’m ready to bring the skills and passion I’ve honed to my own community by opening Aunty’s Cafe, The Safe Space—a place where love, community, and warmth flow as freely as the coffee.
Imagine walking into a cozy, familiar space where you’re greeted with a smile, your favorite brew, and a sense of belonging—like visiting your favorite aunt who always makes you feel at home. This is the vision for Aunty’s Cafe: a safe, welcoming haven where everyone can gather, connect, and share moments that matter.
Over the years, I’ve been asked to cater countless events, but without the proper equipment or a permanent space, I had to turn down opportunities that could have brought joy to my community. Now, I’m determined to make this dream a reality, and I need your help to get started.
Your donation will allow me to purchase an espresso machine, the necessary equipment and the items needed to travel to events, set up for pop-ups and cater events. This is the first big step in bringing Aunty’s Cafe to life. With your support, I’ll finally be able to cater to the people who’ve supported me all these years and start building a space that’s more than just a cafe—it’s a place where community, love, and connection thrive.
I believe in the power of community because I’ve seen it firsthand. Now, I’m asking my community to believe in me. Any support, no matter how small, will help me create a space where everyone is welcome, where we can share stories, laughs, and of course, amazing coffee. Together, we can build something beautiful—a home away from home for all who walk through our doors.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me bring Aunty’s Cafe to life.
