Hi friends and family,

Many of you may wonder what I am always off doing on the weekends. "Ultimate frisbee?" you ask. "Is that the thing with the nets?" "Is that even a real sport?" Well, we can debate these topics all day. But real or not, I have been working pretty hard at this sport since I was a tiny little 13-year-old. And wouldn't you know--that work finally paid off. Thank goodness because even I was getting a little concerned. In fact it paid off so much you could say I won the ultimate frisbee lottery because...

I am so honored to say I have been selected for the Under 20 Women's National Ultimate Team and I will be representing the USA in Logroño, Spain this coming July!

I was selected from a pool of over 400 players to play on a 24-person team. The team is comprised of girls from across the entire country, and the US has historically been one of the most dominant teams in this sport (it has medaled at every single World Championships, ever). I went through a grueling tryout process and played with a fever the entire first day (call me MJ). But I pulled it together and had a blast. This is arguably one of the highest honors I can receive in the sport at my age.

I am excited beyond words--this is something I have been dreaming of and working towards for five years. It is a dream come true. Unfortunately, this tournament costs a TON of money, and fees cover:

-A training weekend in June

-Coaching and medical

-Uniforms

-A training camp before the tournament

-Travel to and from Spain
