Help Julia Care for her Mom in Brazil

We hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to share a heartfelt plea for support. Our dear friend, Julia, is facing an immense challenge. Her mother recently suffered a severe stroke in Brazil, leaving her with significant physical and cognitive impairments.
Julia's Situation:
- Distance: Julia's mother lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
- Stroke: On February 19th Julia’s mother was hospitalized from a sudden and debilitating stroke, which resulted in partial paralysis of the left side of her body. She is currently undergoing therapies to return her swallowing functions.
- Surgery: She is awaiting surgery now to get a feeding tube.
- Long Road Ahead: While her progress is promising, the road to recovery is very, very long and Julia has decided to move to Brazil to care for her mom along this journey.
Our Request: We are launching a GoFundMe campaign to support Julia’s move/relocation to Brazil and for all the extensive treatments and therapies that will be needed to ensure she has a comfortable quality of life.
The funds raised will serve several crucial purposes:
1. Rehabilitation: For the uninsured, hospitals are free in Brazil. However, Julia’s mom needs so much MORE in way of therapies; all of which all will be extra and completely out of pocket. We aim to raise funds to get her access to as much rehabilitation as possible, so that she can regain as much independence as possible and giving her a better quality of life.
2. At-Home Care: Upon discharge, Julia’s mother will need specialized medical equipment to aid her mobility and essential functions at home. Also, there will need to be quite a bit of remodeling needed to make sure she can safely move around her apartment (wheel-chair access).
3. Support for the MOVE to Brazil: Julia has decided to move to Brazil indefinitely. She needs to travel to the states at least another couple times, get a storage unit, foster one kitty, and travel with the other kitty back to Brazil (all while mama is still in hospital). Your contribution will ease her financial burden and allow her to focus on her mother’s recovery.
