Help Julia and Edward Overcome Financial Crisis
Donation protected
The saying goes something like this: You're only one emergency away from a financial crisis. Our friends Julia Ziemer and Edward Sanford have had several emergencies lately and need our help.
Julia was diagnosed with a rare, genetic connective tissue disorder that affects every system in her body. Due to this chronic degenerative disease and deteriorating physical and mental health, she's able to work only 12 hours a week. Edward has been working full time, supporting the both of them financially for nearly a year while Julia deals with endless appointments and applying for disability, which is a very long process. Edward is a full time taxi driver and has a third surgery in a year and a half scheduled to repair unknitted bones in his foot, that will leave him unable to bear weight on his leg for 3 months. He won't be able to drive for those three months as he recovers, so there will be more lost wages. In the last two weeks, their basement flooded, their car broke down to the tune of $906 and on 8/13, they both tested positive for COVID, which will mean lost wages in the short term just ahead of the long term losses that will follow the surgery this Autumn. In the last year, they have gone from 2 full time incomes to living paycheck to paycheck to paychecks not covering the mounting expenses.
This couple hates asking for help, but they're in a dire situation. Please consider donating, sharing, or both.
