Help Julez walk again
Donation protected
At 1:30 am on May 27th one of our worst fears came true. Julez, our 11 year old big baby girl, woke up and could not use her back legs.
We immediately called the U of I emergency vet. They told us to monitor her overnight to make sure it wasn't a minor pinch/stiffness/legs had fallen asleep. Later this morning it was very obvious it was something much, much worse.
After an incredibly trying time getting her to the vet, a long wait and a lot of tears later we found out that surprisingly, she’s old. As dogs age, the discs in their spine can shrink causing them to slip.
Our precious dragon puppy needs surgery to walk again. The prognosis is decent but not guaranteed. We thought she more than deserved the chance (she is in excellent health …other than her attitude…otherwise).
We need your help though. Surgery isn’t cheap. The deposit alone is $5,000.
The Hurley house could sure use your support. Even a share and the love goes a long way. Her recovery, should the surgery go well, will also be extensive and may include building a ramp. She will need meds and possibly physical therapy. We just don’t know.
Thank you to everyone so far that has helped. Your love means everything to us.
