Help Jules Thrive After Losing His Dad

On May 27th, our family experienced an unimaginable loss. Tayman Strahorn, a loving father and a proud member of the Local 52 Motion Picture Union, passed away suddenly—leaving behind his 7-year-old son, Jules.

Jules is a bright, gentle, and incredibly loving child. He is also disabled, with special needs that require consistent therapies and supportive care to help him thrive. Tayman’s passing means Jules has lost not only his dad, but a key part of the financial and emotional structure that held his world together.

We are doing everything we can to keep Jules stable and supported, but his needs are ongoing and substantial. He requires weekly speech therapy, occupational therapy, and specialized educational and mental health services. He will likely need this support for the rest of his life.

We estimate Jules’s annual care needs to be over $40,000, including therapy, specialized education, adaptive programs, and caregiving support. While we are pursuing survivor benefits and other available resources, these systems take time—and many of the costs are immediate and ongoing.
