Help Jules Pay Rent After Being Fired for Coming Out
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I'm raising funds for my friend Jules — a queer community member in Winchester, VA — who was fired from her summer job after coming out as a lesbian, and now urgently needs help to make rent and cover basic needs.
Jules normally works at a school during the academic year (currently out for summer), and her summer job was her main source of income. After she came out to coworkers, things changed — she was excluded, isolated, and ultimately let go. Now she’s down to $0 in her bank account, with only a small $98 paycheck expected, and is $564 short of rent, due August 1st.
On top of that, she’s dealing with:
A $500 surprise pet deposit for her kitten
An ear infection she can’t afford to treat
Car repairs + gas
Groceries charged to a credit card she now can’t pay off
She’s trying her best, but this has left her feeling completely stuck — and she can’t safely ask her parents for help due to not being out to them.
How You Can Help:
We’re hoping to raise $1,200 total to help cover:
$750 rent
$500 pet deposit
Medical & car-related costs
If you can give anything — even $5 — it means the world.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and helping lift up someone just trying to survive after being pushed out of a job for being herself.
