Hi, my name is Ashley, and this sweet face is my fur baby, Jukebox.
If you've ever met Juke, you already know—he’ll steal your heart in seconds. He’s the sweetest, goofiest, most lovable dog who lives for butt rubs and attention from anyone who’ll give it. (Truly, the most unloyal loyal dog I know lol)
But right now, my boy is hurting—and we could really use some help.
A few months ago, Juke inhaled a foxtail—one of those grassy weeds with barbed tips they’re everywhere. I had no idea something so common and ordinary could be so dangerous for dogs -- even deadly. Reason being, they don’t break down in the body and can burrow deeper into tissue, causing severe infections and internal damage.
Since then, Juke has had this infection and severe nose bleeds. It’s been a heartbreaking, expensive, and exhausting journey. We’ve been in and out of multiple vet clinics, spent thousands of dollars on testing, and even went as far as Tijuana in search of more affordable options. One vet there wanted to cut him open, and I just couldn’t go through with it -- didn’t feel right.
Now, we’re left with only one real path forward: a specialty procedure and possible surgery here in the States that cost a minimum $4,000. Despite having three pet insurance plans, none of them will cover this. My CareCredit is maxed out, and I’ve stretched every financial option I have.
Anyone who knows me knows I'm private and don't really like doing things like this—asking for help—but I’m out of options here and just want to help my baby. He deserves to feel better..so...here we are...
My goal is to raise $5000. This will cover the following:
$4000 | The surgical procedure
$500+ | Follow-up care
$500+ | Any emergency treatments if complications arise
If you’re able to help, any amount means the world to me. Even sharing this story brings support and awareness.
That said, If you’re a dog owner, please be careful with foxtails. They’re more dangerous than most people realize, and I hope our story can prevent others from going through this.
If you made it this far, thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping Jukeyy.
With love,
Ashley & Jukebox
