Juiz de Fora, my hometown in Brazil, has been devastated by extreme rainfall and flooding. Entire neighborhoods have been destroyed. Families have lost their homes. Lives have been tragically lost, and many people are still missing as rescue efforts continue. The rain is expected to continue in the coming days, worsening an already heartbreaking situation.

Although I currently live in Canada, my family, friends, and community are there. Watching this unfold from afar has been incredibly painful. I felt I could not stay still.

I am organizing this fundraiser to provide direct support to families affected by the floods. All funds raised will be transferred to a trusted and well-known journalist who is coordinating a large-scale, transparent campaign on the ground. He is working directly with community leaders and volunteers to ensure donations are distributed to those who need them most — prioritizing families who lost their homes, are displaced, or are facing urgent needs such as food, water, clothing, hygiene supplies, and temporary shelter.

Transparency is extremely important to me. I will provide updates on transfers and distribution as information becomes available.
