I’m reaching out today to ask for your help on behalf of my dear friend, Judy, who is in urgent need of a reliable used car. Judy is not just a friend; she’s family. She’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—she was there the day I was born, and we've shared countless moments over the years, becoming especially close after we lived in California at the same time. At 77 years old, Judy is one of the strongest, most independent people I know. However, her car, which she depends on for so much, is on its last leg.
Judy lives alone and relies on her vehicle for everyday essentials like getting groceries, picking up prescriptions, attending medical appointments, and going to church. Without a car, her ability to carry out these simple but crucial tasks is severely limited. With her tight income, she has no room for a car payment or the option of having groceries delivered. She faces the real threat of isolation, and I worry about how this could negatively impact both her mental and physical health as it does for many seniors.
Judy doesn’t need anything fancy—just a dependable vehicle that will allow her to continue living independently and maintain her vital connections to the community. A used car would make all the difference for her. When I researched the cost of used cars it appears that around $10,000-12,000 is needed to buy from a reputable seller, but she will certainly take something less expensive if we can find it.
If you can, I ask you to consider donating any amount to help Judy get the car she needs. Your support, no matter how big or small, would mean the world to her and to me. Together, we can make sure Judy doesn’t lose her independence and can continue to live her life with the dignity and freedom she deserves. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
