My name is Kerri and we are raising funds for my sweet, wonderful mother, Judy Rambin. My mother has spent her life taking care of others and now she needs a little help. If you don’t know my mom, she has been an RN for over 54 years, with most of her career working at Willis Knighton in Shreveport, LA. She truly has a gift for caring for others and made it her life’s work. This was not limited to her job; she cared for multiple family members and friends too. She retired from Willis Knighton but has been working part-time at a hospice facility. On February 27, 2025, she fell outside her home and broke her elbow, which required surgery. On a chest X-ray, her PCP noticed a “spot.” She was referred to a pulmonologist to follow up. He ordered a lung biopsy and a PET scan. On April 3, she had her lung biopsy and it was revealed she has adenocarcinoma of the lung. The doctor is hopeful it’s only stage one, but she is still going through tests to make sure there is no metastasis. If this wasn’t enough, she was diagnosed with early onset dementia. Her memory has rapidly deteriorated due to being sedated twice. Things she has always been able to do, like pay bills, balance her checkbook, and bank account, have become nearly impossible due to her memory. I have begun to take over this responsibility and help her with this. Upon diving into her accounts, we discovered she was 4 payments behind on her mortgage and they are threatening foreclosure. We want to stop foreclosure and slowly start selling the house and downsizing for her. It is too big for her and too much of a responsibility. We know it’s a lot to ask, but if anyone deserves help, it is Judy Rambin.
